Art makes me feel like a kid in a toy store – I love drawing, then off to the acrylics and mix media departments, feeling ecstatic down the photography aisle, and quickly obsessed with clay, texture and textiles.
It wasn’t until 2007 that I began actively creating, exhibiting and selling art. And as the media change, so does the art. I find it compelling to focus on the feeling of each piece.
Just as everyone has a cause, I have a few of my own. They guide my thoughts and art, almost without my consent:
the strength of women from mixed media portraits to sculptures that focus on a form of rebirth
the turmoil of urban encroachment on nature, and nature’s eventual victory in taking back, like a slow dance where each partner has a chance to lead
It affects us all – and it makes for some intriguing art.
My art has been in several exhibits at the Anton Art Center from 2012 to present.
I also participated in several exhibits at the Grosse Pointe Art Center from 2008 to 2012.
