Artist Statement

Our communication is often limited to an idea expressed in words, but there is much in human experience that must be felt or shown through symbols. We turn to images when words fail, and for experiences which have eluded description: unexplainable occurrences which have fueled myth and fable or have given our daily existence a richness and mystery.  I was born in Buffalo, New York, but lived and worked in San Francisco for over forty years. The art that I have developed, over many years, is gesture based in suggestive compositions that hopefully encourage the viewer to interpret the content of the image according to their own memories and dreams.
